December 18, 2015

Good Morning,
We have had a wonderful week and the students have been hard at work with a variety of tasks and learning opportunities.  They continued writing non-fiction/teaching books.  We focused on using other readers to help clarify our own writings and reviewed spelling approaches (in our writing).  Our chat with Senator Leahy went well.  He was great with the kids and fielded all of their questions.  He even imitated his Batman voice and talked about his appearance int he next Batman movie.  In math, the 1st graders have been working on measurement (non standard), fractions, and time to the hour and half hour.  The 2nd graders have been working on attribute blocks and sorting by specific rules.

I had stated, in Monday's post, that I would be sending home paper for students to complete the book for Lydia's last day.  Lydia was not in school on Wednesday, so I used the afternoon to complete the book in class.  We will present it to her on Wednesday.  We will be having a "goodbye party" for her that morning.

I hope you have a great weekend.

Peace,
Tommy
