Good Morning,
I hope you all have had a great week.  The students have been busy with their non-fiction books and will start editing and publishing final drafts next week.  I am hoping to be able to have these published into bound books for them. We also finished our pen pal letters and will send those to Waterbury over the weekend.

Wednesday marked the end of our Winter Sports program.  The students had a great year and it's the first time in a long time that (that I can remember) where the snow was so consistently good.  In order for a program like this to happen, it takes funding, volunteers, and a commitment from the town itself.  I would like to thank all of those people who have made this happen for our students.  They are truly fortunate.  A special thanks goes out to the PTA, the volunteer coaches, and all of those who helped with the Ski and Skate sale.  That one fundraiser allows for the financial piece to not be an obstacle.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Notes:
*Your child has two book of choice books for the weekend.

*Each student has a Weekly News entry to share with you.  Please take a look at it and respond.

That is all for now.

Have a great weekend.

Good Afternoon,
I hope you all had a chance to enjoy some aspect of the beautiful weekend.  This week will mark the end of our Winter Sports program.  I am hoping the weather will hold up and the kids can have that final EPIC day!  I want to thank all the PTA and all of the volunteers that make this valuable program such a success.  We are truly a fortunate school.

The students continue to work on their research books.  Most of them are still in the research and take notes phase but several have started their 1st drafts of their non-fiction books.  Overall the enthusiasm about this project seems quite high.  I am excited to see the final products.

Two weeks from Wednesday will mark the beginning of our next science unit. This unit focuses on the sun and moon.  The ski program will have wrapped up and I can use this added time to get back to science.

I hope you all have a great week.

Peace,
Tommy

Good Morning,
I hope you all had a great end to February.  If you were fortunate to have it off, I hope your vacation was both relaxing and rewarding.  I have to admit it was the simple things that made it rewarding for me.  My wife and I actually got to spend time walking, catching up, and even squeezed in a couple of date nights.

This week we finished out State Symbol books.  The students conducted a little research on their own, created diagrams with labels, and added a glossary.  Next week will mark the start of their bigger research projects and creation of their own non fiction book.

Notes:

*I will be out next Friday.  I am using a personal day to attend a Drop Kick Murphy's concert in Boston.  Last year my brother and I went to the concert and spent St. Patrick's Day enjoying the Boston vibe.  We have decided to make this a tradition and now more of our family and friends are joining.

*Your child has reading homework and a Weekly News entry for you to look over.

That is all for now.

Have a great week.
