Happy Valentine's Day!  Today marked the kickoff of our artist in residency.  We started the day with an assembly that focused on the concept of African drumming and how it is considered the heartbeat of Africa.  The students also had their first session with the drummers.  We joined Mr. Hubbard's class and spent the majority of the time dancing to the beat of the drums.

Montshire Trip:  We are all set to go to the Montshire Museum on March 15th.  Our chaperones will be Rachel Rosenblum and Bill Curley.  The cost of the trip is $6 per person (chaperones must pay too).  I would like the money turned in to me by Friday.  If you are sending a check, please make it out to Waitsfield Elementary School.

I will be in the building but out of the classroom on Thursday and Friday.  I will be testing kids in both reading and math.  These are one on one tests that will allow me to work on report cards over vacation.  Please do your best to have your child in school on these two days.

There will not be math homework this week.  There is a lot going on and the end of the week is going to be a bit hectic.

I will not need any parent helpers on Wednesday.  We have to do math in the morning.  There will be a group of teachers observing the lesson.

Have a good week.
