Part of Persuasive Letter on Free Ice Cream
Good Afternoon,
Can you say FREE ICE CREAM?  That is what your child wrote about today.  They had to use their persuasive voices while writing me a letter about a flavor I should buy them.  Once they complete these and turn them in, I will read their reasonings and decide if they convinced me to buy some ice cream or not.

Today's read-a-loud was Shh! We Have A Plan by Chris Haughton.  This picture book about a beautiful bird, an unquenchable desire and plans gone awry... Four friends, three big and one little, are out for a walk. Suddenly, they spot it—a beautiful bird perched high in a tree! They simply MUST have it and—SHH!—they have a PLAN. So they tip-toe, tip-toe very slowly, nets poised—"Ready one ... ready two ... ready three ... GO!" But, at the turn of the page, we find a ridiculous bunch of very tangled characters and a blissfully oblivious bird, flying away.
Abi drew a picture of herself swimming.
